The retain profit is enough to keep the business afloat for at least another year. The return on capital employed is = EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) 100. Long-term capital = 20,750 100 197,300 = 10.51% This shows that the business is bound to make a 10.51% rate of profit in its first year of business. The gross profit margin = 132,320 100 318,425 = 41.55%. This shows that the business will increase its gross profit by 41.55% in its first year of operations. Since there are only four stakeholders, the ability to reward them and the repayment of the bank loan can be deemed as possible. The remainder of the retained profit 8,646, will go to the majority stakeholder who has a 55% stake in the business as mentioned previously. The remaining figures used have been gathered from the Halifax, copies of price list items for suppliers were gathered from an already established Indian restaurant in the Earls Court area of London and the price of items for foods, were gathered from a range of well known and established Indian restaurant both in the greater London area of Hertfordshire and central London. Hence, the approach taking to construct this business plan can be deemed as highly realistic. In section 1, one has decided to go for a wider range of cuisine items, because having visited the Earls court are and looked at the menus of potential competitors, it was identified that, variety was non-existent on the menus looked at. Only the Chinese and oriental restaurants had a wider food range. This is why the sales figure is forecasted to be in excess of 100,000. There are no disadvantaged with the abovementioned as this has been thoroughly investigated. In section2, the primary data was collated from real wholesale / retail prices. This is used so as to try and a get a realistic conclusion to ones findings. The decision to include and show potential competitor strengthens and weaknesses can be stated as appropriate. Since this has been carefully orchestrated, researched and investigated upon, the disadvantages are minimal. In section 4, the approach for the production process is based on a real observation of an established Indian restaurant in the London area that was identified as being busy with a lot of customers. This was observed over a four day period between 8pm and 10pm. Hence cooking minutes is suggested on average as being between 10 15 minutes, in which appetizers will take 5 10 minutes to present to hungry customers. The summation of 10,000 is also based on the observation that with a standard approach as seen and mentioned with regards to the observation in other Indian restaurants, it is believed the business could potentially earn on average monthly 10,000. There are minimal disadvantages to the approach used. In section 5, the financial resources and physical resources are based on realistic findings. The figures were collated through interviews with managers in four Indian restaurants in the London area, including Earls court. Therefore, the approach can be said to be as near realistic as it can be. The disadvantages with regard to the accuracy of the figures are minimal. In section6, the approach taken is based on the stakeholders, who have a combined capital introduction of 80,000 to invest into the The Star of India restaurant. Hence, it can be deemed that they are quite well off in the first place. The bank loan is based on a realistic figure from the bank of Scotland (Halifax). Interest payments on the loan are not repayable until after the first year of operations. Contrary to the above mentioned a manager in one of the leading established Indian restaurant was interviewed, in which it was mentioned that the Chester cook from the physical resources required, is one that comes second-hand in all established Indian restaurants in the UK. The capital budget approach is based on real and hypothetical figures. However, it was identified that if this business was going to be successful, a huge initial capital introduction was required. Hence the approach of having well off stakeholders (80,000) is tabled. This is the main reason why the business remains profitable at the end of its first year of operations. The disadvantages are that the sales figures could prove too optimistic, hence its a question of making sure that the business plan is constantly reviewed so that the sales target could be met, and also to be able to foresee any losses when there is a lack of customers. Islam: A Religion of Peace What is a Muslim? In what do the followers of Islam believe? In todays world, people should be asking these questions, if only to learn more about the world around them. In this paper, I will discuss how the basic ideas of Islam compare to the six bases of religion listed in our textbook. Some maintain that it is a healthy time, as the stomach is rested and Muslims eat more fruit and less spice than they might do normally. The main benefits however are spiritual and mental. Family Interference Problems There are a lot of similarities and differences between the two short stories â€Å"A Rose for Emily† by William Faulkner and â€Å"The Story of an Hour† by Kate Chopin. I plan to address these similarities and differences, but don’t worry if you haven’t read these stories, because I will be doing a shortened summary of both stories. By comparing and contrasting these stories I hope to inform you of both authors and the more complex, underlying themes and plots of the stories. Infosys has relied on known frameworks such as PCMM, CMM, and CMMI to improve the maturity of its processes in project management. Infosys has substantially gained from the use of domain flavors in managing its projects in some areas. The key areas where the domain flavors have helped Infosys manage their projects effectively include such areas as estimation, a global delivery model for IT projects as well as risk-based project management. The domain flavors have also assisted the firm to address the change management requirement and quality assurance or management. Geography-specific focus areas, as well as configuration management, have also been key areas that Infosys have gained due to the use of domain flavors. The firm has also been able to employ domain flavors in controlling the analytical processes as well as in the achievement of vision, values, and efficient governance. As reflected in the Infosys process and best practices relating to the application of domain flavors to effective project management, we can apply this to Jason and Craig case. It can be seen clearly from the case brief that Jason did not have any skills in project management and hence he could not agree with any change management proposed by Craig. As a consultant, I will urge Jason to allow room for best human resource management practices. Here I will explain to him that a project manager, in this case, Craig should be given a conducive environment to work and allow to make decisions relating to the project management. For example, I will highlight to Jason that it was as a result of not allowing room for Craig to make a decision that led to the collapse of his business. Craig foresaw the impending business failure since the firm only relied on the government contract. This rated this business a high-risk one since its life only depended on the government as the sole customer. Relating to risk management in the project manager, it has been seen that the success of Infosys saves to the effective application of domain flavor in managing the risk-based project as they one Jason entered. Accordingly, I will advise Jason and Craig to employ the best practices by imitating what Infosys has done over the past years to succeed (Burke 2013). There was a need to assess all the risks that were involved in the business before embarking on its operation. However, it has been seen in the case Jasons business microscopic if none was done to assess the possible risks associated with the venture. I will recommend that Jason and Craig adopt the CCM and PCMM which have both worked successfully for Infosys. By utilizing CCM, Jason and Craig will be able to develop and refine this enterprise processes efficiently. They will understand the role of the five maturity levels to a start firm like the one they are practicing. Jason must understand the process of business evolution right from a lower level a higher one (Atkinson 2009). There is a need for Jason to understand that his enterprise is still at the initial or ad hoc level and hence the success will greatly depend on the competencies of the project manager, Craig. This will justify the earlier of urging Jason to let Craig make the decisions without interfering. I will also advise the firm to embrace the use of PCMM which has also accounted for the success of the Infosys. By adopting and understanding the role of PCMM in the project management, Jason will understand the existing of three fundamental entities in the organization as people, process as well as technology (Kerzner 2013). Further, Jason will be able to appreciate the relationships that exist between these three essential components. I will explain to them that PCCM will help build optimum as well as the standardized process. By using PCCM, the two will be able to evaluate immediate plan initiatives to trigger improvements hence abandon the use of unsolicited proposal that only fell in deaf years drawing no customers into the business (Munns and Bjeirmi 2011). Another major tool that Shakespeare uses is the prologue of the play where he tells the audience that Romeo and Juliet are going to die which creates sympathy towards Romeo and Juliet before the play even begins. These two sentences tell us that they Romeo and Juliet fall deeply in love but are destined to die, already Shakespeare has used this to create sympathy for Romeo and Juliet. I think the sympathy increases the longer the play continues as the audience watch the pair fall madly in love and they dont know that their going to die. This is also a good example of dramatic as the audience knows Romeo and Juliet are going to die but Romeo and Juliet do not know this. The feud between Juliets family (Capulet) and Romeos family (Montague) also creates sympathy for Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare mentions the families feud in the prologue saying Two households both alike in dignity From an ancient grudge break new mutiny. These two lines tell us that they are two powerful house holds but they will be betrayed. This already creates lots of sympathy for Romeo and Juliet; because if there was no conflict between the two families none of the events leading up to their deaths would have taken place, Romeo and Juliets relationship would have not had to be a secret. The play begins with a battle between the two houses and eventually later on in the play members of the families are killed which result in disastrous consequences. By starting the play with a fight Shakespeare immediately excites the audience and grabs their attention. This is in a way another dramatic device used by Shakespeare because Romeo and Juliet are aware of their families dislike for ea ch other but do not know what sort of problems this will cause in the future. Tybalts death is another important event in the play which creates sympathy for Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare creates a dramatic battle between the Montagues and Capulets ending in the death of Mercutio and Tybalt. The two gangs of men meet in a public place and Mercutio and Tybalt begin to fight and eventually Mercutio is killed. In a fit of anger Romeo battles with Tybalt and Kills him enraged. Romeo says And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now which tell the audience just how angry Romeo is with Tybalt.The audience feels sympathy towards Romeo as his best friend has died. When Romeo kills Tybalt he is banished and Juliet is very upset that Romeo is gone. Juliet pretends that she is weeping for Tybalts death; she says to her mother I am not well. This makes us feel sympathy for Juliet as she has to hide her sadness behind her cousins death. Shakespeare has used dramatic irony here because Juliets family does not know why she is crying and think its because Tybalt has died. Juliet is deeply unhappy because she does not know when she will see Romeo and her wedding has been cancelled. Shakespeare has proved a point here about the treatment of women in the 16th century because Juliet is forced to hide her own true feelings and can have no opinion on Romeo banishment. This creates further sympathy for Juliet. The letter that Friar Lawrence sent but did not reach Romeo was also a major part in the play which increased pity towards Romeo and Juliet. This creates sympathy for Romeo and Juliet as Romeo has know knowledge of Juliets death and this eventually leads to Romeo killing himself. On hearing that his letter could not be sent Friar Lawrence says Unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood this tells of his unhappiness that the letter could not be sent and he becomes worried that Romeo does not know of Juliets death. Shakespeare has also ironically used the word fortune as Friar Lawrence has no control over what has happened and is destined to happen to Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare has used dramatic irony here because Romeo does not know that Juliet has faked her death. This creates lots of sympathy for Romeo as he is dreadfully upset about the death of Juliet and eventually leads to Romeo killing himself. Romeo says Well Juliet I will lie with thee tonight telling the audiences that he is goin g to kill himself, creating sympathy for Juliet. In act III scene 1 comedy takes a dramatic turn to tragedy which makes the audience remember what is destined to happen to Romeo and Juliet and creates more sympathy. When Tybalt and Mercutio die, this sets the scene for the rest of the play and the audience knows that eventually Romeo and Juliet are going to die. This makes even more sympathy for them as the audience realizes they will soon die. This is a major turning point in the play as it takes a serious turn and after this very little comedy is used by Shakespeare. He does this so theres such a big comparison between tragedy and comedy. In conclusion to all the events I studied in the play I found the following things. Shakespeare did nothing accidentally and all the themes of the play were purposely put there. He has clearly purposely highlighted that women were not respected well in the 16th century and had very little say in matters. He has cleverly shown that conflict can lead to needless death and that violence is not the right answer.
